H-1B sponsorship, state by state

See which jobs are sponsored most in each state, what they pay compared with the US median, and the biggest H-1B employers registered there.

State pages are on their way. In the meantime, check any company or job post with the free checker.

How to read the data

Job counts and salaries on each state page follow the worksite named on each certified Labor Condition Application, so they describe H-1B jobs located in that state.

The sponsor lists use the employer's registered address. A company registered in one state often files for jobs in others — which is why big employers appear in their home state's list even when their jobs are spread across the country.

Questions

Which state has the most H-1B jobs?
California, followed by Texas and New York — the list above is ordered by certified applications for worksites in each state.
Do H-1B salaries differ by state?
Yes. Each state page compares the median offered salary for its most common occupations with the US-wide median for the same occupation.
Can I work in a different state from my sponsor's address?
Yes. The application names the worksite; a change of worksite may need a new or amended filing by the employer.
