Practise on a live voice call

The closest thing to the real interview: you talk, the interviewer listens, follows up when something’s missing, and ends — like every real interview — by asking if you have questions. Afterwards every answer gets written feedback.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Start a voice interview

On AI Interview, press “Start a voice interview” — or “Practise” next to a likely question, “Practise on a call” in Upcoming interviews, or “Start a voice interview” right after preparing an interview.

  2. 2

    Choose who and how

Pick your interviewer (tap the speaker to hear their voice) or tick “Panel interview” for two who take turns. Then what you’re practising for (a job, the questions you were really asked, or common questions), the round (Recruiter screen, Behavioral, Technical, Hiring manager, Final) and the style: Friendly, Neutral or Tough. Pick an “Interview language” (12 languages), and tick “… isn’t my first language” for a slightly slower, plainer interviewer and more phrasing tips. Your choices are remembered.

  3. 3

    Check it before you start

Before the first answer, the session shows what it will be like — for example “Maya · Hiring manager · Neutral · English · 5 questions” — with “Change” to switch the interviewer, panel, style or language without starting over.

  4. 4

    Talk it through

Press “Start the call” and allow the microphone. Answer out loud; a short pause ends your answer, or press “Done answering”. Need to think? Press “Need a moment” — it won’t move on until you’re done. You can talk over the interviewer, “Skip question”, mute, hide captions, or end the call any time.

  5. 5

    Answer the follow-ups

If an answer leaves out what you did yourself or the result, the interviewer asks one follow-up — like a real one would. Tough interviewers probe more.

  6. 6

    Ask your own questions

The call ends with “Do you have any questions for me?”. Ask two or three; your interviewer answers in general terms, and you get feedback on your questions with sharper ones to ask. Recruiter screens also ask about your salary expectations (see Warm-up and salary practice).

  7. 7

    Listen back (optional)

Tick “Record the call so I can listen back” before you start. The recording stays in your browser — never uploaded — and “Listen” replays each answer. Delete it from the transcript any time.

  8. 8

    Or type your answers

Prefer typing? Choose “Practise by typing”, answer in “Your answer”, then “Submit answer”. You get the same feedback, and a timer if you want one.

Questions

Does the AI know my résumé?
Yes — and the job post when you practise for a job. It never invents facts about you.
Is the call recorded?
Only if you tick “Record the call”, and then only in your browser. We keep the transcript of your answers to give feedback.
What if voice isn’t available?
Practise by typing — the questions and feedback are the same.
